Just released: our CD Sato - Harvest can be purchased from group members at 20 euros plus shipping charges or from imu-musiikki. AND the studio is reserved for our next cd, which will be quite different, concentrating on heavy music on electric kanteles (not nearly as impossible to listen to as you think!).

A LOT OF OUR MUSIC CAN'T BE FOUND HERE BECAUSE OF THE RIGHTS OF THE COMPOSERS AND ARRANGERS...AND BETTER QUALITY WILL COME ON OUR CD...
The following pieces were recorded on minidisk at their premiere electric performance with a brand new BOSS GT8-effect machine & a "plank" electric concert kantele that builder pekka Lovikka loaned us. (the sound man made his first acquaintance with kantele and us that evening!)
A word of caution: the order is from tamest to wildest!
Mitä ne tähdet (What do the two stars in the sky mean?) - Barb Hanka & her group inspired us to make a new version with a mandolin effect instead of a mandolin. This changed a bit in our recording session afterwards, since we couldn't hear the finished version with effects beforehand...
Suviaamu (Summer morning) - Paula's first composition for us, Jaakko's saw was unfortunately overshadowed by the simultaneous effect in the kantele
Orvon joiku - this is only the first verse of the song from Lapland, there are three more verse that belong to the rest of the wonderful 4-part vocal arrangement made by Sanna Kurki-Suonio on one of her visits to Haapavesi...the studio version made afterward is slightly different.
String Machine - we've added two more verses, one with a trombone-like sliding bass effect and another with a ragtime calliope effect in the discant, which can't be heard very well in this recording. For some strange reason the Hawaiian guitar effect was left out of the ending.
Hippavalta - our new electrified arrangement of a 5-string plucking piece that belonged to Antti Rantonen's repertoire s l o w l y changes into a jazz waltz with Päivi improvising on the electric concert kantele with a jazzy sound effect.
These more traditional pieces are older recordings also made on a minidisk in various live performances:
Minä tässä hyppelin kultani kanssa (Pasin jenkka) in the play Golden Kantele (you can hear the dancers jumping and clapping), it will be slightly different on the CD.
Annin oma valssi - from the repertoire of Hatukankaan Annin (Anni Kääriäinen) from Haapavesi
Ah, mun rakas lintusein/Kytökylän polkka - Anni's song and polkka
Kulkurin valssi - (Vagabond Waltz) you don't always hear all the parts clearly, the studio versio for the future CD is much clearer.
Koko maailman polkka - in the style of the master Väinö Savikosken from Haapavesi, but adding vocals
